Xidi Village
Nov 9
1 Comment Our tickets out of Hefei were mistakenly purchased for the wrong day. We eventually found tickets but we would leave three days later than planned. In the interim, we decided to climb a local mountain (next post) and see the village where, 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' was filmed.
On the first day we went to Xidi village. Xidi is old and the families living there have been there since the village was created during the Ming Dynasty. They make souvenirs from scratch, and occasionally people will visit their village and buy them. There are a few signs in the nearby areas letting visitors know that the village is now famous for the movie having been made there.
We stopped at a local "bar" and tried some wine. It was like drinking brandy. The villager there asked us if we watched Nascar. He loves Nascar. We told him no, we do not watch Nascar.
See my photos from Xidi Village.
